The Spoilers
Ireland's last hope?
The result of the recent Irish presidential election could be a turning point in our history. A significant turning point.
I am referring not to the low poll or the small number of candidates (neither is unprecedented in Irish presidential elections), but to the extraordinarily high number of spoilt votes.
Well over two hundred thousand eligible voters went along to their polling stations and opted to spoil their votes rather than choose from the list of candidates before them. To put this in context, the number of spoilt votes equates to more than half of those who gave their number 1 to the runner-up, Heather Humphreys. Yes, Catherine Connolly won the election to become President of Ireland, but is she really who the people want as their representative?
This country (and the world) stands on the brink of great peril. That peril can be averted only if the people choose to turn away from those who have led us into it in the first place. Could the recent Irish election result suggest that, at last, a sizeable number of people are cottoning on to the reality of our situation?
And what is that reality?
I believe it to be nothing less than the imminent enslavement of everyone in the country (and on the planet). Of course no one is compelled to become a slave. But the psychological manipulation that gets people to vaccinate their children, or love their smart phones, or drink this or that brand of lager, etc., is being deployed right now to coax us into the Great Reset (or whatever it is currently called). That will mean a nice pain-free life for those who follow the rules. And the rest of us?
When I see nearly a quarter-of-a-million Irish adults flexing their muscles, so to speak, my heart leaps. Maybe it is a straw in the wind, a sign that more and more people are becoming aware of the danger before them?
I really hope so.
