Just getting ready for mine now JP. Up the newly tarmacaddemed canal walk, Leixlip to Confey and back, about an hour, nice and clean and flat. It used to be filled with puddles and muck. When away, I walk the prom to the next town and that's over an hour too. I can't do without rain, hail or snow. That and a swim is compulsory for me to keep my sanity. Be good xxx

Alas, I can't swim. But everything else is essential for me too!

Many thanks.

Thank you for that much needed kick up the arse to dislodge me from my tablet and to go for my walk 🚶‍♂️ 😀

Your meditation on walking as both motion and metaphor captures the rhythm of thought itself. The way you frame each step as a dialogue between body and landscape—neither fully purposeful nor aimless—reveals why this most ordinary act remains an essential rebellion against our accelerated age. A quiet masterpiece.

Walking reduces screen time. You might miss something! Your screen beckons! Come back!

That's my problem... even at 80, I am terrified of missing something vitally(!) important...

At 80 you have no need to be terrified of anything. And nothing is vital either x

Except walking perhaps? LOL
